Sony Ericsson today announced Xperia ray – a stunning new smartphone alongside Communic Asia 2011 in Singapore. With a 3.3 screen and running the latest Android platform for smartphones (Gingerbread 2.3), the phone packs in a powerful 1Ghz processor, Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, a 8.1mp camera with Exmor R for mobile and HD video functionality. At only 9.4mm thin, Xperia ray incorporates market leading design for which Sony Ericsson has become known.

The first thing you notice when you opens the box is the new head-set - it is the brand new Sonyericsson "Live sound" head-set, good looking "entangled" free h-set with very good sound.

The design is amazing with a classic sober look, very few buttons and the metallic chassi together with solid plastic body. The best looking SE for ages. And the size and feel is perfect - and the size is right if you think Arc is to long and Mini is ti "mini". And the bulit quality is amazing with no creak.

Ray has Android 2.3.3 and very much alike Arc - one thing that is new is a application called "Energy saver" where you can make fast set up for all applications. Very handy and smart. The screen is not so sensitive oddly enough - you have to press and tap a little harder - maybe this is depending on the extra plastic protection shield I put on - I will test that later. And the 3,3" screen size could be a lille bit bigger, there is plenty of room maybe.
